Shopping Planet Ford Outside of Texas?

Our Ford Dealer agreement requires New Ford vehicles be registered in the United States. Several states have new regulations and requirements that must be met. In addition, several states: CA, CT, DE, MD, ME, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, VT, and WA, have adopted the California Emissions Standards and not all of our vehicles meet these.

Due to proof of identity requirements, financing customers must sign all documents in person and take delivery from the dealership. Customers paying in full can arrange shipment when funds are received by Planet Ford.

Dealer Discount on New vehicles are offers from Planet Ford and are available to everyone. Manufacturer’s Cash Rebate is subject to residency restrictions; however any customer not meeting the residency restriction will receive a dealer discount in the same amount of the manufacturer’s rebate. Other Rebates not included in the sale price will depend on where you title the vehicle.

You will be responsible for all taxes and fees due for the state of registration. Most states are “reciprocal” with Texas for sales tax, so in those states you will not be required to pay extra.

You will be required to provide insurance and driver’s licenses from your state, which must match the address of your new registration. We are also happy to assist you with insurance through Allstate.

We will take care of this for New Ford and financing customers. Lenders require the dealership provide proof of registration and lien record and Ford requires proof of registration that match any incentives received. Customers purchasing Used vehicles with cash may handle their own if preferred.

Each state varies greatly on how fast they process out of state titles and registration. If you must provide emissions, state inspection, ad-valorem or paid property tax-fees-assessments receipts, this will increase the processing time. In the meantime, you will be issued a temporary 60 day license.
